Privacy Policy for Pinterest Plus

Last updated: [30 Aug 2026]

Pinterest Plus (“the Extension,” “we,” “our”) is a browser extension for Google Chrome. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

Summary

Pinterest Plus is designed to work entirely on your own device. It does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data to us or to any third party. There is no user account, no login, and no remote server involved in any of the Extension’s features.

What Data the Extension Accesses

To provide its filtering and organizing features, Pinterest Plus reads publicly rendered page content on pinterest.com and images hosted on Pinterest’s own image domain (*.pinimg.com) while you are actively browsing those pages. Specifically, this includes:

Image URLs, thumbnails, and pixel data of pins visible on the page, used locally to analyze color and aspect ratio Visible text such as pin titles and labels, used locally to apply filters (for example, detecting ads, video, or content Pinterest itself has labeled as AI-generated)

All of this data is processed entirely within your own browser, in memory or in local browser storage. None of it is sent to us or to any third-party server.

What Data the Extension Stores Locally

The Extension uses Chrome’s local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your own device to remember:

Your filter settings (color selections, aspect ratio, and toggle preferences) Your saved folders and the images you have organized into them Your chosen download folder

This data stays on your device only. Pinterest Plus does not currently offer or require a user account, so this data is never synced anywhere and is never accessible to us.

What We Do Not Do We do not operate a server that receives data from the Extension. We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or crash-reporting services. We do not sell or share any data, because we do not collect any. We do not access your Pinterest account credentials or any private, non-public content. We do not read or store data from any website other than pinterest.com and *.pinimg.com. Permissions Used Permission Why it’s needed Host access to pinterest.com and *.pinimg.com To read the visible pins and images so the Extension can filter, analyze, and let you export them storage To save your filter settings and folders locally on your device downloads To save exported images and ZIP files to your chosen folder sidePanel To display the Extension’s interface in Chrome’s side panel scripting To restore the Extension’s functionality on Pinterest tabs that were already open when the Extension was updated, without requiring you to manually reload the page Third-Party Links

The Extension’s settings page may include an optional, clearly labeled link to a third-party support/donation page (Ko-fi). Clicking it takes you to Ko-fi’s own website, which operates under its own separate privacy policy. We do not receive any data from that page or from your interaction with it.

Children’s Privacy

Pinterest Plus is not directed at children under 13. Because the Extension does not collect data from any user, it does not knowingly collect data from children either.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if new features are added. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above and, where required, disclosed in the Extension’s Chrome Web Store listing.
